The Christmas Market

Every year, from the last weekend in November through December 23, Gamla Stan transforms as it hosts Stockholm's oldest Christmas market. A tradition dating back to 1837, Stortorget fills with its classic red stalls, where Swedish handicrafts mingle with the scent of smoked sausages and the warmth of glögg, the mulled wine of Scandinavia.
